Dr Anna Nicholson
David Hill Research Fellow, Centre for Behavioural Research in Cancer, Cancer Council Victoria.

Anna is a public health researcher who has a keen interest in policy implementation and evaluation, with a focus on health communications. Anna brings practical insights and systems thinking to her research that stem from experiences gained as a physiotherapist in hospital and community settings; undertaking a PhD as part of national research partnership to explore smoking and quitting among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples; managing research and evaluation for population health programs (SunSmart Victoria, Beyond Blue); working as a health broker in a regional local government setting; and leading the Public Health Association of Australia (Victoria Branch) from 2019-2022. Anna returned to Cancer Council Victoria in 2023 as the David Hill Research Fellow. She is also an Honorary Fellow at the University of Melbourne’s School of Population and Global Health.
