Dr Carolyn Heckman

Dr. Carolyn Heckman is Professor and Chief of Behavioral Sciences and Co-Leader of the Cancer Prevention and Control Program at Rutgers Cancer Institute in New Jersey. Trained as a psychologist, she conducts research funded by the US National Cancer Institute, including on indoor tanning and school sun safety policy, as well as implementation of digital skin cancer prevention interventions for youth and melanoma survivors. She has published over 130 peer-reviewed papers and is a fellow of the Academy of Behavioral Medicine Research and the Society of Behavioral Medicine.
